Can you get your original record changed?
Often, the best option will be if you get the record of sex on your birth certificate changed. Check this by contacting the Registry in the place where you were born.
However, some countries and some Australian states and territories might not be able to do this. Recognised details certificates are available to all Victorian residents not born in the state of Victoria.
A recognised details certificate does not certify that your name and affirmed sex are recorded in the Victorian Register.
Read the Change of name tab if you want to change your name at the same time.
